VPP compatibility by battery
Every battery family we track against every open program. 16 families, 9 open programs.
Each program supports a specific list of brands and models, because the operator has to be able to talk to your hardware. Which battery you buy therefore decides which programs you can ever join — so this is worth checking before the hardware is on the wall, not after.

A tick means the program’s published compatibility list names that family. It is a starting point, not an approval: compatibility is often model-specific, and the provider still checks your exact battery, inverter, meter and postcode at signup. Rows are ordered by how many programs list the family — a count of published listings, never a view on which battery is better value.
These lists change. Providers add brands as they finish integrations and occasionally drop them, and a blank cell means only that we did not find the family on that program’s published list when we last read it — sources checked 1 Sep 2026 – 23 Sep 2026. If your battery is missing, or newer than this table, ask the provider before concluding you are shut out.
Capability is not compatibility
A battery advertised as “VPP-capable” only has to be technically able to join one — the federal battery rebate requires nothing more. Whether a particular program actually lists it is a separate question, and it is the one that decides what you can do.

We track this family, but no program open today names it in a published compatibility list. That is not a fault in the hardware — it may still be an excellent battery — but it does mean there is no VPP on this site to join with one.

A blank row is not a dead end
A battery earns its keep without any VPP: it stores your own solar for the evening instead of exporting it at a feed-in rate. Joining a program is a way to earn more on top of that, not the reason to own one.
You can also run the battery yourself. GloBird VPP (ZEROHERO) records a self-managed plan that works with any battery brand, without handing over remote control — you schedule charging and discharging, and meet the plan’s own usage conditions. It earns no event payments, and the plan’s rates and fees still need comparing.
