SolaX Triple Power T-BAT H 5.8 V2 review

The reviewed cabinet is one T-BAT H 5.8 V2 master, without slave batteries. Its 5.8 kWh name refers to nominal storage. Usable energy above follows SolaX's V2.5 datasheet, preserved by distributor SOLSOL, under its stated test conditions. Current unversioned datasheet downloads now describe V3, so those newer figures do not apply here.

The V2 manual lists 2.8 kW standard and 4 kW maximum battery-side power. It gives no duration for the maximum; neither is a guaranteed continuous AC or backup rating. Choose the inverter against simultaneous appliance demand as well as stored energy.

The V2 datasheet permits one master on X1 Hybrid, whereas X3 Hybrid requires at least a master and one slave. These are family-level arrangements: the installer still needs to confirm your exact Australian inverter generation and firmware.

Backup also needs a designed switching and circuit arrangement. SolaX's general support guidance names an EPS box, or Matebox Advance for X1/X3 Hybrid G4 systems, for whole-house switching. That does not establish that this single battery can run every appliance. Have the quote specify backed-up circuits, inverter output and starting-load limits.

The manual permits indoor or outdoor installation but requires protection from direct sun and a suitable environment. Its full-load temperature range is 5–48°C; IP65 alone does not make an exposed hot wall suitable.

The Australian V1.6 warranty applies to covered installations from 1 February 2025 and explicitly names this V2 model. Product cover ends at the earlier of 120 months after installation or 129 months after manufacture. Old stock can therefore receive less than ten years after installation. The document makes a ten-year-from-installation exception for qualifying NSW PDRS installations approved by an accredited certificate provider; this review does not establish eligibility.

Its separate capacity promise is 70% retention within the stated time limits, subject to 6,000 cycles for daily self-consumption and backup. Other applications, including combinations containing another application, use a 17.9 MWh cumulative discharge limit for this model. The warranty does not name VPPs. It excludes damage caused by third-party control equipment or software lacking written SolaX authorisation, so confirm the proposed VPP's treatment before joining.

Use an authorised reseller and a SolaX- or distributor-certified installer, complete warranty registration and retain commissioning records. Report faults within four weeks under the warranty. Additions after the first year require advance consent and SolaX's battery-extension procedure.

The checked ACCC recall concerns LG S/A Gen2 batteries supplied in certain SolaX systems, rather than this Triple Power model. SolaX's November 2025 guidance separately says Triple Power was not listed for recall. Owners should identify the battery by its label, not the inverter brand.

Support evidence checked 21 September 2026. SolaX’s Australian company page and local contact page document an Australian operation and escalation route. They do not establish support outcomes or V2 reliability.

The Australian warranty V1.6, effective for covered installations from 1 February 2025, lists this V2 model and permits direct SolaX escalation if the installer cannot help. SolaX may change software/configuration, repair, or supply a new/refurbished/equivalent unit. Standard-ground return freight is capped at $200 in certain areas; the owner pays excess/other methods, while travel, subsistence and onsite installation/modification are excluded. A no-fault or uncovered return can trigger recovery of labour, travel, delivery and replacement costs. Australian Consumer Law rights remain separate.

The final ARENA/ITP report covers one earlier 12.6 kWh Triple Power lab system, not this 5.8 V2 master; it cannot establish current field reliability. The known SolaX/LG recall concerns LG S/A Gen2 batteries, not this model. No T-BAT H 5.8 V2 entry appeared in the ACCC, CEC or Energy Safe Victoria searches, and no bounded V2 owner/installer sample was verified.

No fixed Australian installed price was verified. Start with SolaX Australia's Find an Installer directory and request an itemised V2 quote covering the master cabinet, compatible inverter, backup equipment, installation, commissioning and GST. Confirm stock, manufacture date and lead time: an online V2 product section is not proof of availability.

For a fresh installation, ask for a separately specified current-generation option alongside the V2 proposal. If keeping an existing solar inverter matters, also compare an option with its own AC inverter. Compare complete installed systems and the same backup requirements. Any rebate deduction needs an exact-model and installation eligibility check; the catalogue's CEC reference does not settle it.

Check your evening consumption against the proposed storage and your essential loads against the inverter's backup rating. If expansion is likely, settle the permitted cabinet count and timing before purchase. Keep the exact battery, inverter and firmware details for any VPP enquiry; a listing for the SolaX family does not confirm acceptance of this combination.
