Match chemistry and permitted current first. REDARC, Projecta, CTEK and NOCO offer four different mains-charger options with Australian store links, dated prices and connection checks.

Options for different needs, based on manufacturer specifications and seller offers. We haven’t tested them hands-on.

REDARC SBC1204 pictured with battery clamps; supplied leads unconfirmed.

For simple 4A charging

REDARC SmartCharge SBC1204

A one-button starting point for a compatible battery

Consider it when REDARC’s documented battery types and 4–120Ah range match your battery instructions.

Current
4A
Battery range
4–120Ah

Battery range
7–140Ah deep cycle / 2–70Ah LiFePO4

NOCO GENIUS10 Australian charger with battery clamps; mains plug not shown.

For a compatible larger battery

NOCO GENIUS10

A distinct 10A option with clamps and mounting bracket

Consider it when the battery maker permits 10A and you need the documented 6V/12V modes or up-to-230Ah charge range.

The trade-off: More current is not automatically suitable for a small battery. Special recovery modes need the supplied manual and appropriate advice.

Reviewed

Evidence basis
Australian purchase and manufacturer product pages checked 12 October 2026. The IC7 manual retains its 10 October check; the new NOCO manual was checked 12 October. Specification research, with no hands-on tests.
Coverage
Four-brand shortlist: simple 4A, selectable current, lead-acid maintenance and a distinct 10A larger-battery option. Australian retailer and direct-store purchase pages checked.
Limitations
A focused Australian shortlist, not a whole-market ranking or a claim that every model is the newest. No measured performance, endurance or reliability comparison. Prices are dated observations; original full-review date retained.

Start with battery chemistry and permitted current

REDARC SBC1204 suits simple 4A charging, Projecta IC7 adds selectable current, CTEK MXS 5.0 AU is a lead-acid-only choice, and NOCO GENIUS10 adds a distinct 10A option. The correct setting is the one the battery manufacturer permits. Extra amps and more modes do not establish better charging for the battery you already own.

The purchase refresh checked Supercheap Auto, BCF and Australian manufacturer stores on 12 October 2026. These are mains-powered chargers, with exact Australian buying pages. Jump starters, alternator DC-DC chargers and solar controllers solve different jobs. We have not measured recovery ability, charging speed, battery lifespan or reliability, and current listings alone do not establish newest-generation status.

What to check on the exact kit

REDARC SBC1204 — a simple current profile

The AU SmartCharge page lists lead-acid, AGM, GEL, lead crystal and LiFePO4 support, with a 4–120Ah range. REDARC says not to charge lithium below 0°C. That does not mean every battery or BMS accepts its profile; match the battery’s permitted voltage and current first.

The listing describes integrated clamp storage and a five-year warranty. Permanent ring-terminal cables and other connection accessories are separate purchases. Confirm the supplied kit before choosing an extra lead. The general AU warranty page lists two years for general REDARC products, so obtain written confirmation of the SBC1204’s advertised five-year coverage. Start with REDARC technical support, keep the receipt and confirm return-freight terms.

Projecta IC7 — useful current choices, with indoor limits

The current IC7 selects one, two, four or seven amps. Projecta lists automotive 40–800CCA, marine 55–900MCA, deep-cycle 7–140Ah and LiFePO4 2–70Ah. A 100Ah lithium house battery falls outside that stated lithium range. Its AU page lists 240V AC input, a 0.6m fused wiring harness and five years’ warranty. The box summary does not explicitly establish clamp inclusion, so confirm that if you want temporary connections.

The retained IC7 manual requires indoor, ventilated use. Do not transfer IC7W or older IC700 instructions to this kit. The AU warranty route starts with the original seller, receipt and fault description; the consumer initially pays return freight. Keep the exact kit’s five-year paperwork.

CTEK MXS 5.0 AU — charging and maintenance are different ranges

CTEK’s AU 56-987 specifications give a 1.2–110Ah charging range and maintenance up to 160Ah. This is a 12V lead-acid charger, with no LiFePO4 mode. A larger maintenance number is not a larger charging range.

The Supercheap Auto kit lists Connect Clamp connectors and five years’ warranty. Extension, indicator-eyelet and other accessories are separately listed. Confirm the AU mains connection and any desired permanent eyelet lead in the exact order. Use Supercheap Auto’s faulty-product return route with proof of purchase for local support.

NOCO GENIUS10 — higher current only when the battery permits it

The seller-hosted NOCO manual documents 6V/12V modes, 10A charging and a charge ceiling of 230Ah. Its lithium setting is for compatible LiFePO4 batteries with a suitable BMS. That makes it a meaningful larger-battery alternative to the four-to-seven-amp options here, without proving a measured speed advantage.

BCF’s Australian kit lists clamps with integrated eyelets, a mounting bracket, strap, two screws and user guide. Confirm the shipped AU mains connection; the product photo shows the charger and clamps. BCF states a three-year limited warranty. Use BCF returns for purchase support. Special recovery and supply modes require the exact manual and battery instructions; this guide gives no recovery procedure.

Make the connections practical for your vehicle

Decide whether you need temporary clamps or a permanent harness before comparing the total. Check cable reach and compatibility with your battery location. A charger with the right current but an awkward connection may be the wrong practical purchase.

Read the battery label, permitted charging profile and vehicle instructions. A chemistry label alone does not settle BMS compatibility, charging temperature or use of a special mode. Obtain battery or vehicle advice when those instructions conflict; do not choose an override because the charger advertises one.

Confirm the complete Australian kit

Match the exact model, Australian mains configuration, chemistry and permitted current. Obtain the complete GST-inclusive price with all necessary leads, written warranty and local claim route. Follow the delivered instructions and check the exact revision and supplied clamps against the Australian recall register. This comparison does not establish batch or serial clearance.
